2D Artist

As a 2D Artist, you are responsible for creation of high-quality animation and assist with art assets in accordance with the artistic vision. You create and bring characters and game assets to life using a broad range of 2D animation abilities. You are an experienced animator who has the technical ability to set up animations to run in games, and are proficient in working with members of all disciplines on the team.  You’re a self-starter who thrives in a team environment, who works quickly and collaboratively to accomplish best results. You are an excellent communicator and exhibit proficiency in problem-solving both artistic and technical challenges.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure delivery of high-quality animations for a rewarding gameplay experience;
  • Animate in-game characters and assets, and integrate them into the game;
  • Work with colleagues and supervisors to identify and solve problems, both technically and artistically;
  • Optimize assets for seamless integration in the game engine;
  • Participate in the game creation process by proposing concepts and creative storyboards;
  • Meet quality and accuracy standards as required;
  • Provide feedback on tools and pipelines;
  • Adhere to deadlines and communicate and troubleshoot technical issues with Production.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Expert in Animate, After Effects or any other relevant 2D/Animation software;
  • Degree in animation, motion design, fine art, or equivalent working experience;
  • Traditional animation background with strong understanding of 2D animation principles;
  • Proficiency with design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • High degree of initiative with ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback;
  • Good time-management skills in a fast-paced environment;
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Sense of humor, passion for your work;
  • An exceptional online portfolio featuring examples of 2D animation work.
